2010 Scholarship Winner - Brooke Barker

Brooke is from Highland High School in Ault, Colorado. Brooke joined the Colorado Junior Rodeo Association in 2005 and began competing inthe Colorado State High School Rodeo circuit as a Junior in high school. by that time she was already comfortable in the saddle, competing in the National LIttle Britches Rodeo Associatino as a youngster. Each year she was in the NLBRA she qualified for the finals and won the barrels and poles three of those years. She mentioned that she owes all her accomplishments to her family and her horse, Charge.

All that experience propelled Brooke to excel as a teenager where she made finals each year in the CJRA and focused on roping. In 209 she won second in the average and was one of the two girls to catch all three calves, winning Reserve Champion in the Breakaway. Her goal for this summer is to win the saddle and become Champion.

Brooke plans on attending Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, where she has also received a rodeo scholarship. She will pursue a degree in Equine Science and sees herself as a WNFR contestant in the Future.
