Fire Department

The Brush Volunteer Fire and the Brush Rural Fire Departments serve approximately 5,500 people in the City and 1,200 in the Rural District. The total serviceable area is approximately 215 square miles, 8 miles of Interstate, and 36 miles of State highway. They respond to 250 - 280 calls per year.

The Brush Volunteer Fire Department is governed by two entities, The City of Brush and The Brush Rural Fire Protection District. Together the Districts operate and maintain:

  • 2 Type 1 Engines
  • 2 Type 6 Engines
  • 1 Type 3 Engine
  • 2 Tenders with water capacity of 5,500 gallons
  • 1 Rescue
  • 1 Command Vehicle
