Restaurant Assistant Manager

The Assistant Manager has the greatest opportunity, as the immediate supervisor, to show our staff how to best meet the needs of our customers and provide the exceptional customer service we expect. The Assistant Manager answers to the General Manager of the golf course and is responsible for the direct management of all restaurant staff.

Some of the staff management responsibilities include:

  • Training staff in all functions and operations of the restaurant and lounge.
  • Monitoring staff performance and providing continuous coaching, instruction, and discipline when necessary.
  • Coordinating with and following instruction from superiors and HR in delivering discipline and corrective action.

  • Some of the other responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and managing all restaurant and bar cash receipts, ensuring accurate and accountable cash handling. Follows the instruction of the Finance Director and maintains efficient and accurate communication in directing processing of all cash through the restaurant.
  • Orders food, beverages, and restaurant supplies, following purchasing guidelines established by the City; meets with sales representatives, schedules deliveries, tracks inventory, and ensures accurate receipt of the orders.
  • Responsible for regular review of pricing and working with the General Manager to update food and beverage prices accordingly.
  • Responsible for learning, knowing, and enforcing applicable liquor laws and ensuring that all staff are informed and follow the requirements.
  • Makes arrangements and plans all details of special events which include: planning menu, staffing, ordering, setting up, clean up, and assisting where needed. Primary contact for customers and coordinates closely with the GM. Responsible for the accuracy in planning details between The Course and the customer.
  • Assists GM in golf operations and customer service, may also serve as supervisor to Pro Shop in the absence of GM.
  • Maintains accurate member records including billing.

  • The Course Cafe and Lounge is open year round to the public and is located inside the club house at The Course at Petteys Park. Lunch and dinner are served Tuesday through Saturday and lunch on Sunday. The lounge is open Tuesday through Sunday for hanging out with friends and watching the game. Must be 21 years or older.

    Prior experience supervising and managing staff preferred.

    Prior wait experience, serving customers preferred.

    All combinations of experience which demonstrate the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
